Formed in 2019, Smooth Retsina Glow is one of the most dynamic, creative, and musically invigorating bands to emerge from the Lehigh Valley in recent years. Currently consisting of Colin Wolf, Sarah Stoll, Jacob Wolfe, and Brian Dercas, the group has already achieved a significant level of critical and commercial acclaimed.
Originally formed in 2019, SRG released their debut record New Frontiers in November of that same year. The album would be nominated for a slew of awards at Lehigh Valley's 2019 Music Awards, where lead guitarist and singer Wolf would also receive the award of best music educator of that year. The future looked bright, but within a matter of weeks, Covid 19 would pulverize civilization, flushing the band's concert schedule out in a matter of days. This period would also see the departure of two of the original founding members, leaving tWolf to rebuild the group.
Recruiting Sarah Stoll, Smooth Retsina Glow forged ahead, recording their 2nd record, Out of the Ether, and gigging a substantial amount of outdoor shows in the remainder of that year. Drummer Brian Dercas came aboard in March 2021, and the band released their sophomore record Out of the Ether. The gigs quickly began to snowball, and by the end of the year the band had played in and out of the Lehigh Valley, including the Lehigh Valley’s most popular festival, Musikfest.
As good as Smooth Retsina Glow was as a trio, it’s members still felt like something was lacking in the group, and another lineup shift in the spring of 2022 caused Jacob Wolfe, who had assisted the first lineup with Colin Wolf in 2019, to rejoin the band, this time as a full member.
Currently, the band is hard at work playing a slew of venues in the Lehigh Valley and beyond as well as a 4th original record, this one being their first as a quartet.
